Goodness of Warm Lemon Water

Do you know that drinking warm water improves our blood circulation? I did not know exactly that but I do know it makes my body, especially my tummy feels better. However, while doing a little research on warm water, I came across an article that talks about the benefits of drinking warm water WITH a few slices of lemon towards our skin and overall body health. Here, I'll share it with you!

1. Improve Immune System

Lemon is rich with Vitamin C, which is an antioxidant that helps strengthen our bodies' natural defences. Vitamin C is useful in combating flu and even high blood pressure.

2. Balancing Body pH Level

Vitamin C itself is known as a weak acid but it considered as an alkaline-forming food. It doesn't mean that it makes our body more acidic because when taken into our bodies, our bodies will burn the acid, leaving an alkaline end product. However, too much intake is not a good idea for people trying to limit acidic foods because of acid reflux. The acids in the food can still cause pain going down if your esophagus is damaged due to reflux.

Drinking lemon water in the morning helps the body burn fats more effectively. Lemon also contains Pectin, a soluble fibre which can normally be found in citrus fruits. Pectin helps to drive away hungriness while fibre makes you full, so you don't feel hungry that easily.

Vitamin C and antioxidants in lemon tackles skin damage caused by exposure to UV rays, and surrounding toxins. It also stimulates the liver's function, so it helps clean off toxins in the blood which leads to clean skin and less freckles. Also, Vitamin C is needed in the production of collagen which is important for elasticity and anti-ageing.

5. Hydrating & Energizing

Drinking lemon water in the morning can also keep us hydrated and energized all day, especially those who drink less water. This is because lemon will increase water production in our bodies.
